Standing Committee

The Standing Committee serves as the Bishop’s Council of Advice, and, under certain circumstances, becomes the Ecclesiastical Authority of the Diocese.  Other areas of responsibility include: Candidacy to Holy Orders, efforts to sell or encumber real estate, and election of bishops in this and other dioceses.
