The 2018 Honduras Medical Mission leaves for San Joaquin Feb. 10.
The mission is hosted this year by All Saints/Tupelo with Frank Anger as the team leader. The advance team arrives in Honduras on Feb. 8 to set up the mission at San Joaquin. The rest of the team arrives Feb. 10 and return home Feb. 17. This year there are 33 team members--14 men and 19 women ranging in age from 18 to 73.
The clinics include medical, dental, eye, veterinary, and a pharmacy. The mission serves the people of San Joaquin and 13 nearby villages. The clinics begin on Sunday, Feb. 11 at 1:00 p.m. and end after the last patient is seen, usually by Thursday at 1:00 p.m. During a normal mission, over 2,000 patients are seen, and over 800 animals.
This year’s team members are from Mississippi, Arkansas, and Illinois. The team is also joined by several people from the Diocese of Honduras, including medical personnel and student translators from St. John’s Episcopal School in San Pedro Sula.
