Greetings to you from the members of The United Thank Offering Board.
We are reaching out to you to inform you of some very important and immediate changes that we have made for the 2021 granting cycle. Although we announced that the focus for next year would be based on creation care, we have opted to postpone this to the 2022 granting year. Due to the great need created by the COVID-19 pandemic, we have chosen to change the focus for 2021 to: Recovering with love and gratitude: An Episcopal response to the COVID-19 pandemic in local contexts.

Because the need is large and immediate, we plan to split the ingathering funds into two granting cycles. The first granting cycle begins now with a due date of August 14, 2020. This cycle will give out all ingathering funds received through August 30, 2020. Materials for the second cycle will be made available November 6, 2020 with a due date of February 26, 2021.

In order to fund as many projects as possible, we have chosen to create two funding levels. The first level will be Seed funding for projects up to $10,000. The second level will be Impact funding for projects from $10,001-$25,000. The board is committed to supporting our past grant sites that are addressing the needs of their community that have developed due to the Covid-19 pandemic and economic downturn. Therefore, we will offer grants to new and innovative ministries and to existing UTO grant sites. We have issued a separate application form for each category so please pay close attention.

The Board is committed to offering as much help as possible. We will be
offering webinars at the following dates and times:

Tuesday July 7, 2020 at noon and 7 pm EST
Tuesday July 28, 2020 at noon and 7 pm EST

The UTO Board thanks you for your support and encourages everyone to practice gratitude every day. It has been shown that practicing gratitude reduces stress levels and creates a sense of well-being, as well as honoring God. Please remember to contribute to your Blue Boxes so that we can help our church respond to those in need.
