The winning team in a round of golf is not always the team with the lowest score!  While it was the Bishop’s foursome that scored the lowest in the eighteen hole match, we should not ignore the fine performance by the team that exhibited the most Christian forbearance and exemplary humility, even though this foursome actually came in dead last!  All in all it was a fine day and a fine match in which everyone had a glorious time.  Upon return from the fairways, clergy gathered to enjoy each other’s company over a sumptuous meal prepared by Gary Center’s new chef, Grae Dixon.  It was a good way for clergy friends to renew acquaintances and remind themselves of the excellent fellowship that clergy enjoy in the Diocese of Mississippi.  Adding to the quality of the conference, Bishop Frank Griswold provided daily inspiration and guidance.  As expected, his presence strengthened commitments to pursue reconciliation throughout the diocese.  It was an empowering week of invitation, transformation, and reconciliation.
