Congregations for Children (CFC) is an ecumenical effort launched by the Episcopal, Roman Catholic, and United Methodist churches in Mississippi, and open to partnership with all others who sense a calling to love, celebrate, and advocate for children. All Congregations for Children make three commitments: to learn about and to become involved with the issues that challenge the children of Mississippi; to celebrate Children's Sabbath in their local setting; and to be advocates for legislative action on behalf of children. Legislative priorities for CFC are: EDUCATION, HEALTHCARE, CHILDCARE, GROCERY/CIGARETTE TAX, JUVENILE JUSTICE, and FOSTER CARE SYSTESM. As Assistant to the Bishop for Outreach and Community Development, The Rev. Carol B. Stewart is the ecumenical liaison for CFC for the Diocese of Mississippi.

At a press conference held at the state capitol today, January 24, Bishop Gray, Bishop Ward, and Bishop Latino joined in their efforts to support Congregations for Children.
