Hurricane Sandy

November 8, 2012

Dear friends in Christ,
As many of you are aware, multiple weather systems have wreaked havoc upon our brothers and sisters in the north eastern region of our nation.

Our parish has a connection to these communities through The Rev. Jane Bearden. She has passed on to us some concrete idea of their needs, and it is time for us to respond. As always, monetary donations are welcome, and we are in a position to match those donations through a trust that we set up in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. In addition to funds, these folks seem to be in need of basic necessities. They need clothing, especially warm clothing, food, and water. We are now gathering any amount and combination of these items here at The Church of the Redeemer. As we gather these items, please consider how we might each help those in acute need. Also, if anyone has any information about people traveling in that direction who might be willing to help transport our offerings, that would help avoid the expense of shipping and allow us to direct more resources to where it is most needed. I ask that we all pray for those who are suffering and act to help meet their need.

Faithfully,
The Reverend Robert Wetherington
