Catherine Johns, longtime secretary to the Bishops of Mississippi, died suddenly at her home in Jackson on Saturday morning, August 22.

Catherine retired from the Diocese of Mississippi a few days shy of one year ago after serving eighteen faithful years and three diocesan bishops. She was a member of All Saints’ Episcopal Church.
Catherine, age 66, was born on July 20, 1943 in Jackson, to the late William M. and Frances Berry Harrison.
She is survived by her husband, Edward P. Johns of Jackson, MS; two daughters, Leigh Ann Coker and her husband, Marty of Palm Harbor, FL and Traci Sheffield and her husband, Greg of Clearwater, FL; one sister, Fran Martin and her husband, Rex of Jackson, MS; and two grandchildren, Maddie and Max Sheffield of Clearwater, FL. Please keep Edward, Fran, Traci, Leigh Ann and their families in your prayers.
The funeral services were held on Tuesday, August 25th at All Saints’ Episcopal Church in Jackson.
