St. Christopher’s Celebrates 50 years

Goldia Revies November 10, 2016

The members of St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church of the Ascension will celebrate the church’s 50th Anniversary on Sunday, November 27, 2016, from 3:00 until 5:00 P.M.

Activities will begin with Holy Eucharist, and the Rev. Brian Ponder will be the celebrant. The liturgy will include a candle lighting in memory of those who helped build St. Christopher's and whose legacies will continue to be built upon.

St. Christopher’s was established during the years of 1966-67 at 643 Beasley Road to serve a community that was experiencing rapid growth and development (Jerry Milton, Consultant). It later survived a period of transition, both in the community and in the church.  The neighborhood has stabilized and the members continue their ministry to the community and beyond.

Other activities will include:  A reception of great food, fellowship and a sharing of stories from the past. All are invited to attend this historic event.  For more information, call 601-982-7495.
