In the aftermath of the devastating tornadoes that plagued the Tupelo area and other parts of the Deep South on April 28th and 29th All Saints’ Episcopal Church is organizing a work day on Saturday, May 10th to help with debris removal in Lee County.
The Rev. Paul Stephen’s invites all who wish to participate in this event to call All Saints’ at 662-842-4386 for details which includes overnight arrangements on Friday and Saturday evenings.
“The workday will be focused on Saturday, May 10, but we are opening the parish hall on Friday for people to stay overnight. Food will be provided for those who to the workday and for who sleep over,” said Stephens, rector of the parish. “Hotel space may be at a premium, so we’re opening our doors at All Saints’ on Friday and Saturday for people to sleep over.”
Plans are for the diocese’s disaster relief trailer to be on site in Tupelo for the workday. Also, the diocese’s Disaster Preparedness and Relief Team is working on a grant from ERD to help the victims of the tornado as well as using other funds.
Stephens said there will be only one service on Sunday, May 11, at All Saints’ that begins at 9:00 A.M.
