United Thank Offerings are due to Diocese of Mississippi UTO Coordinator, Brenda Hawkins, before November 30, 2018. I mail one check from the Diocese of Mississippi to the National UTO Board on December 1. Please remind everyone to get their blue boxes ready, set your collection date, and write a check to UTO.
UTO is a daily discipline of Prayer and Thanksgiving. All monies collected go into grants across our nation and around the world.
Applications for UTO grants will be available Friday, December 7, 2018. Completed applications will be due to the diocesan office by email on Friday, February 15, 2019. The application committee will then choose one. Our diocese can sponsor one local grant and one companion diocese grant application each year. You can find applications on the website: www.episcopalchurch.org/uto.
At Episcopal General Convention and ECW Triennial in Austin, TX., delegates witnessed UTO grants for portable showers ministering to the homeless in designated areas and for a modular home project for displaced veterans, single moms and others in distress. This verifies our many prayers and gifts of thanksgiving at work.
